Name: Keith Brooks
Age: Sweet sixteen!
Birthdate: Valentine's Day, 1994.
Place of Birth: Mother of Mercy hospital, Boston.
Gender: Male
Alliance: Lawful good
Meister: A fabulous fashion cowboy who looks something like the sniper from FF.
Personality: To adults and strangers, Keith is extremely charming. He has perfect manners and everything he says flatters subtly. He can judge in an instant what a person wants to hear and says it, but in a way that the person doesn't know why he suddenly seems so likable. Keith can be very manipulating if it serves his ends.
To his group of admirers, he is likable, hilarious, and a natural leader. He gets elected to student council positions and is always team captain, even if he's not very good at what he's doing. He knows he's gorgeous and uses that to his advantage. Girls want him, guys want to be him, and anyone who doesn't like him doesn't matter anyway.
To his group of true friends, he is nothing like his princely captain-of-the-basketball-team image. He can be very insecure at times and lacks self-confidence. He keeps that center-of-attention natural leader vibe, but it's more natural and less overwhelming. Once he makes real friends with someone, he is willing to do anything for them. He's the person you tell your secrets to, because you know he'd never tell.
Appearance: Keith is perfection made human. Gorgeous blond hair, emerald eyes, and a smile so dazzling it puts the stars to shame. When he flips his hair, women swoon for miles around. His body is strong without being overly muscular, and is shown off to perfection by his stylish clothes. Picture Tamaki from Ouran, and you'll have Keith. Except Keith is BETTER.
Weapon Appearance: Keith's weapon form is a bright red yo-yo with small blades sticking out of the sides. It has yellow lightning bolts painted on the side and is quite sporty. When the yo-yo is thrown it glows and cycles through all the colors of the rainbow. SUPERFABULOUS.
History: Keith was born to a very wealthy and prestigious family of weapons in Boston. His mother was a lightning sword from France and his father was a machine gun, so they expected him to be something awe-inspiring. For as long as Keith could remember, his parents pressured him about going to Shibusen and becoming a Death Scythe. All his life they speculated about which kind of weapon he would be. Some sort of gun like his father? A medieval weapon like his mother? Growing up surrounded by all these expectations made Keith very insecure. his parents both had important jobs in the normal world as well, so they didn't have much time for him. He seemed to not have any weapon heritage at all at first. The years went by, and he didn't manage as much as a knife-hand. His parents didn't say as much, but Keith could tell that they were disappointed in him.
One day, he was preparing for a party his parents were holding for his birthday. A month late, but a party nonetheless. Keith was overjoyed that they were paying attention to him for a reason other than his latent weapon blood. One of his nannies, all of whom had become very fond of him, snuck up behind him and scared him. He jumped about a foot in the air and came down a weapon. Not a gun, or a sword, or anything else awe-inspiring. A yo-yo. A bright red yo-yo with yellow lightning bolts on the side and tiny blades sticking out.
The nanny ran to get his parents, who entered his room in various states of preparedness. They had gotten no details from the nanny, as she had promised the 'young master' not to tell them anything. They found Keith sitting on his bed with a smile on his face bigger than any they'd ever seen. "Are you ready?" he asked them, convinced he would impress them at last. His parents nodded eagerly. He took a deep breath and pop! A bright red yo-yo was sitting on the bed.
From the angle he was sitting, Keith couldn't see his parents' faces. But he could hear their hushed whispers, growing softer as they picked him up. "What do you think?" he asked excitedly.
"Well... it's very nice, honey." he heard his mother say at last. Keith may have been only seven, but he was smart enough to hear the tone of disappointment in her voice. His parents continued talking among themselves, turning him over and examining him like he was a regular toy instead of their boy.
"See that? That's a blade, that's a good sign. But a yo-yo! Well, maybe he'll have more than one weapon form. That must be it." His parents set him down on the bed. "Now Keith sweetie, we're very proud of you for managing this. Really we are! But, don't you think you could manage something.... different? Like maybe a flail or a javelin?" Keith stubbornly stuck his lip out and asked what was wrong with the yo-yo. "Nothing dear, we're very proud of you. We just want you to realize your full potential, and we think it would be easier for you if you were a little more... utilitarian."
Keith knew what that meant. He knew that they thought he wasn't useful. But he knew that when he found a meister who he could resonate with, he would surpass all their expectations and become the best Death Scythe ever. So he worked hard to become the perfect son for his parents. He became a gifted piano player, was popular and good at sports, and graduated middle school at the top of his class. But he always felt that even though his parents were finally paying some attention to him, they would be even happier if he was a great weapon. So he convinced them to let him go to Shibusen, even though they told him that he 'wouldn't fit in.'
Powers: Keith's attacks are basically yo-yo tricks, but they are much more epic because he is a spinning laser yo-yo of death. His range is about ten feet.
Around The World: The meister throws the yo-yo forward and then swings it backwards over their shoulder, creating an arc of destruction.
Three-Leaf Clover: A series of short but powerful back-and-forth attacks to the front that strike the target in vital areas.
Pinwheel: A length of the yo-yo string is grasped and the yo-yo is spun in circles, blocking frontal attacks.
Most of these attacks only work for the front, so Keith's meister would need either backup or a secure tactical position if facing a group of enemies.
Strengths: Keith is very persuasive. He could steal your wallet and convince you that you gave it to him. This is helped by his extreme good looks and charming personality. He makes friends easily, and is very empathetic. He's also in pretty good shape.
Weaknesses: Keith has a hard time making real friends. He believes (usually correctly) that people only want to be friends with him because he's popular, or beautiful,or talented. He can be quite the drama queen at times and constantly needs to be the center of attention. He lacks any self-defense skill, having been raised with bodyguards.
Anything else? Oh yeah, Keith is gay. SORRY LADIES.
