The plane trip to Morocco was a nightmare. Sayuri hadn’t stopped chattering since the moment they’d gotten on the plane. Looking out the window made Karma sick, but sitting in the aisle seat caused her elbows to be viciously attacked by the refreshment cart. Garu and Tsuki had sat in front of the scythe and her meister, so Karma had glared daggars at the back of the meister’s head. She wouldn’t try to start a fight with him for the sake of the mission, but that didn’t mean she had to be buddy-buddy with him.
When they got off the plane, Karma began to wonder what everyone’s fighting style was like. Laura and Sayuri seemed similar, but Laura seemed a bit overconfident to her. Karma knew Sayuri knew her limits, but she wasn’t so sure about Laura. And Garu? He’d just met his weapon, so fighting together for the first time was going to be, as Sayuri would say, “disasterrific”. “I don’t know about the rest of you, but jumping in head first seems to work for the two of us,” she answered Laura with a smirk. “And, Sayuri?” she began somewhat sweetly, “FOCUS ON THE MISSION, NOT BOYS!!!”

Abby had rather enjoyed the plane ride. Even though Laura had spent the entire time playing some video game, Abby had persuaded her to use earphones and she enjoyed a relatively quiet ride. She had been able to tune out Sayuri's chatter from a few seats away quite easily, reading a new Eva Ibbotson book untill they arrived.
When they landed, Abby reluctantly closed her book and disembarked with her meister. She didn't share Laura's enthusiasm. Sure, she had been anticipating their first mission, but she had expected somewhere less easy to get lost in. Abby had a terrible fear of getting lost.
"Well, we should at least all head to the marketplace. Maybe we'll find someone who knows something there." She sighed and grabbed her meister, dragging her to the bazaar.

Garu was quite busy on the plane. Using a map of the area Tsuki printed out for him from the computer he was already mapping out a strategy. He didn't print it out himself because he was more or less terrified to that dreadful devil box. Books have a smell to them. Smell was the sense most strongly connected to retrieval response to the brain. A single whiff could bring back memories long thought forgotten. But computers lacked that smell. Thus, the knowledge lacked ...substance. And that terrified him.
He had stayed behind after the others trying to get more information out of the shinigami. All he had really managed was the addresses the bodies were found. But that was a start. He marked the nine sites on the map with a red pen and started to see a pattern. From this he narrowed down a "Safety zone" an area of no crimes that criminals leave as to not draw attention to themselves. Alot of the times the suspect could be found in the that area. As such he narrowed down the area to 10 to 15 blocks.
Also, he was starting to put together a profile from what he knew about the crimes. A group of three working like this towards a common goal was uncommon to say the least. Most likely they were a pack. This term refers to a certain social group by criminal profilers. Packs were usually lead by a domineering alpha male who may let the underlings eat souls as a way to control them. He is usually highly aggressive. Next there is the fiercely loyal lieutenant. Last in the hierarchy is the newcomer. Submissive and usually not fully trusted by the alpha. All this took him about five hours, the rest of the time he slept, soul protect flickering every now and then. But he made sure to give Tsuki his notes and told her to brief everyone when they landed. As Garu would be shaking off the sleep and didn't want to be accused of being a chauvinist pig for suggesting a course of action.

"Well, we don't have a plan either, so it sounds like we'll be jumping in headfirst too!" Laura answered Karma cheerily. Being not an idiot, Laura could tell Karma was not in a good mood. (Jeez, what's stuck up her butt? Must have been the plane ride... but she was like this since we got our mission, so maybe she's always like this. Or maybe it has something to do with Gary, she seems not to like him for some reason. Well, he seems okay to me, even if he is BORING. Tsuki reminds me of how Abby acts around strangers, so maybe they can resonate because they're both SO BORING. I expected our first mission to be a little less filled with drama and more about fighting bad guys. WHEN DO WE GET TO FIGHT THE BAD GUYS?)
Laura dug in her heels when Abby started dragging her to the market. "Wait wait, maybe Garu or Tsuki has a plan. Any ideas, guys? Cause it looks like we got none." She crossed her arms and waited for the probably boring answer to come. All she wanted was to beat the baddies, have Abby nom their souls, and get back to her videogame on the plane ride back.

"Well? Let's hear this 'plan.'" Sayuri said, using air quotes around the word "plan." She liked the idea of just wandering around the marketplace looking for kishin, but if there was a plan, it was probably the best to hear it. "After all, if we're going to cooperate, then we should let everyone talk! Right, Karma!? But let's walk and talk, ok!?" She grabbed her partner's wrist and began to drag her in the general direction of the marketplace. She stopped, and turned around. "Well? Come on, you guys! We can do this! And each weapon can have one soul so everyone gets the same. Cooperation, right!" Sayuri felt a motivational speech coming, but held it back. After all, not everyone wants to hear about having faith in your weapon and the power of friendship. Maybe when they were done...

When Sahoni gave her and explained to her everything, she had to admit, she was a little bit impressed. It wasn't that she though he was a slacker. She saw enough of him practicing his forms to know better. He just seemed to go with the flow and very Zen about his approach to things yo misuse the term.
When she looked over his knots and made observations of her own and pointed them out. He smiled and nodded in agreement. She was picking up on things. Must have been the homework they assigned each other as a means to A. get to know each other better and B. teach each other skills they thought would be useful.
After all was saud and done, she relutantly agreed to present it to everyone else. "You guys..." she said in a small whisper. "GUYS!" she said louder to get the attention of them. A bit nervous she looked down until Garu took his hand in hers and smiled. "Garu has put together a case file to assist in looking for the trio of Kishin." She set down the map he marked out and explained to them about the various things Garu had figured out. "On top of that we both agree that this pack objectifies women and wouldn't know what to do if confronted by a strong female figure." she said with renewed vigor. "The most prudent choice would be to ask around in the saftey net while some others patrol the areas they strike most often."

Almost ready to beg Sayuri not to give a pep talk, Karma was startled when Tsuki called out “GUYS!” The scythe had first thought it was Laura before noticing Tsuki’s nervous reaction to her behavior. Looks like she has a plan. Finally, we’re getting somewhere, she thought with a smirk. Her smirk disappeared though when the small girl said that Garu had come up with the plan.
Walking straight up to the white-haired meister, she pointed a finger in his face and said, “You listen here, just because you’re the only guy here doesn’t make you leader. And are you saying none of us here are ‘strong female figures’? Sayuri and I could kick your ass any day of the week and twice on Sunday if we wanted to. I bet Laura and Abby could, too. So how ‘bout this for a plan: each team splits up to find one of the Kishin trio by their own means, then all meet back here when we’re finished. Divide and conquer, right?” She took a step back and glared at him. “Or do you have a problem with my plan? Or maybe the fact that I’m a strong female figure?”

Abby scowled at Karma's reaction. "Look, just because he suggested a plan doesn't mean you have to shoot it down immediately. And he never said that nobody was a 'strong female figure,' he just said that the group wouldn't know what to do if confronted with one. I don't know what your problem is with him, but I suggest you get over it soon. We're going to have to work as a team, and I don't want to fail my first mission because you think he looked at you funny."
"And furthermore, I have a problem with your plan. Divide and conquer means dividing up your enemy and conquering them one by one, so if we split up we'll just be playing into their hands. I suggest we stay within earshot or sight of each other, so that if one pair finds a Kishin we can all attack them at once. Garu's observations are sound, and there's no reason why we shouldn't take them into consideration." She crossed her arms. She didn't know why Karma was so ridiculously cranky. It seemed unlikely that her personality could ever resonate with Sayuri's ridiculously optimistic one.

Garu almost slugged that girl right then and there. If he didn't need their support he would have ripped her in half already, and if she transformed into a weapon he would bend her into a pretzel. He really shouldn't have to deal with this. He actually debated dropping his soul protect, if only to scare her. "Listen here, and you listen good." his voice was calm but carried with it the menece of a howling blizzard. "I am here to do a job. I have no need for petty arguments and your freudian daddy issues. If you don't want to follow the plan, fine. I was going to suggest that someone patrol outside to ask about, just to make sure I was wrong or right. You are more than welcome to take the job of proving me wrong. Or you can patrol the safety net, either way you'll be following my plan." he made damn sure he put emphasis on the fact that she had no choice.
"I made a plan because that is what I'm good at. The fact the my reproductive organs are different than yours was irrelevant in my choice of actions. If you're going to yell at me about the strong female figures, do it to Tsuki, I completely missed that in my analysis. I have no desire to be a leader, those who do are in it for the glory." he gave her a look that a preditor gave his prey. He wanted to unnerve and unsettle. "I wanted to find them and have you confront them. I figured you as confrontational and strong willed. So, by all means, you can be the leader." His gave a smile and showed something a bit off about his teeth before feeling a sharp pain in his leg from where he was kicked. He snapped out of it and put on a more innocent face. "Oh...sorry. Can we just get along here? If anything I'm the minority. I just wanna do my part." and that was true, in more ways than one.

Laura stepped between Garu and Karma. "O-kay. Can we be a little less hostile? Please?" She held her arms up, as if to physically block the verbal spars. "Garu has a good plan, and I think we should follow it." She smiled at Garu, trying to defuse the tension. "I was pretty impressed. Are you sure you're not Batman?"
"And I agree with Sayuri," she said. "Let's walk and talk. After all, we're wasting time here. Somebody could be being attacked right now, and I don't want a petty squabble to be the cause of that." She grabbed her weapon's arm and started walking. "I also don't want to be in the middle if those two start actually fighting." Laura whispered into Abby's ear. "I don't know about you, but I think something's a little different about Garu. Did you see his teeth?"

Sayuri stood by, listening to the argument. She pouted as her partner and Garu argued, and frowned when Abby jumped in. She had to do something, and fast, before either Karma or Garu killed someone who wasn't a kishin egg.
"Karma! You apologize to Garu, right now. He had a good plan, and I bet that if we use it, we'll do great. This is all about TEAMWORK, people. I don't want to see any biting of the heads or cold, angry little glares that are extremely creepy." She addressed the last statement to Karma and Garu respectively. "I'd tell Mr. Batman there to apologize too, but that's not my place. Ok? But that's seriously enough of the creepy predator glares. She's right - we probably could kick your butt." She smiled now, in good humor. "But let's get this figured out. I think Karma and I would rather scope out the places they attack. What do you guys want to do?" She began to walk in the same direction as Laura and her weapon, eager to make progress. She put the whole squabble behind her.

Tsuki kicked Garu in the shins. Was he normally like this? She knew he had alot going against him. But he had a good heart at the end of the day. Right? He had to have one. "you should, um, say your sorry Garu." Tsuki managed to say before covering her face and blushing lots. She really wasn't the type for confrontations.
"I think we should stratagize a s-slight bit." he said with a small bit of a stutter "For what everyones strengths are." she added. "We could work more efficiantly as a unit if we know what everyone is good at." After saying that she hid a bit behind her meister looking up at him like a shield of sort.

Abby's outburst startled Karma. The girl just seemed so calm and collected to the scythe. She knew she would get verbal abuse from Garu, but the moment he mentioned her father, she was ready to attack him then and there. Alright, time to die... she thought before Laura and Sayuri stepped in.
The scythe fought back the smile that tugged on her lips when Sayuri chastised the white-haired meister for glaring at her. Karma may have been the weapon, but Sayuri was just as loyal. She was okay with the idea of patrolling the area with her meister, even if she wasn't happy about it being part of Garu's plan. But...
"An apology?! You've gotta be-" Karma stopped when she saw the look on Sayuri's face. "Fine... you're the meister..." She turned to Garu and sighed. Jaw clenched tightly, she said, "For verbally attacking you and falsely accusing you of playing leader, I offer my sincerest apologies..." She reluctantly extended a hand to him.

Abby smiled when Karma extended her hand. She was glad that Karma was getting over whatever issue she had with Garu. "Great!" She laughed a little when Karma appeared to listen to Sayuri just because she was the meister. {Listening to Laura all the time would be a very bad idea.}
"Well, as far as abilities go, when Laura and I resonate we can do fire attacks. Mostly. Some of the time." She sighed. Okay, so they hadn't practiced much. Well, what with packing, and moving, and unpacking and whatnot, they hadn't had a lot of time. But they had managed to do some pretty cool things back home, so maybe they would still be able to do them now.
"I don't think we would mind patrolling the safety net or range of attacks. Either way is fine, although I think we should maintain contact somehow. That way if one of us finds a Kishin we can all attack. Although..." she smiled sheepishly. "Laura and I don't have cellphones."

Garu straightened his collar and nodded at Karma "Apology accepted." He hesitated apologizing. He really didn't want to do this. But he needed to. He couldn't afford enemies right now. "I-I'm sorry about my verbal attack. That was highly uncalled for and not something a gentleman should do." Chivelry was not dead damnit and he was going to live by it. "I also apologize once more for whatever I did to make you mad."
When it was his groups time to discribe he scratched his chin "We can track and stratagize." he shrugged his shoulders a bit and brushed trhe hair back in his eyes "I suppose we are proficient in hand to hand."
