Sayuri pouted as Karma walked away, but followed. "Well, it was nice meeting you!" she said, putting her smile back on. "Maybe we'll be able to talk again sometime!
All that talk about books bored her anyway. Why couldn't people be into more fun things, like cooking or dancing? She sat down in her desk, looking over Karma's shoulder. She wrinkled her nose at the picture of a dead girl in a closet. "Ew!" she said, picking up her own, a magical girl manga that was the horror manga's polar oppisite. No wolves or conspiricies in there, only sparkles. She couldn't concentrate though, the excitment of the first day still bubbled inside her like soda pop. "Karma?" She asked, "When do you think we'll get to do our first mission?"

"Yeah, nice to meet you too." Laura said. (I hope I get to know them more, they seem nice. Even Karma. She's probably just a little antisocial. Understandable.) She turned around and grabbed Abby's arm.
"Come on, the teacher's telling us to get back to our seats." She dragged Abby behind her to the row they were sitting in. (can't think of anything else)

"But- hey! I was talking to him!" Abby tried to pull her arm out of Laura's grasp, but then saw that the teacher was indeed telling them to return to their seats. "Hope you find a weapon soon!" she called back to Garu. (Well, Garu seems alright. Poor guy, we all shouldn't have barged in on him like that. That's no way to make a good first impression.)
Back at their seats, Abby turned to Laura. "You shouldn't have ignored him like that! You were being really rude, you know." A bit frustrated with her meister, Abby sighed and settled down in her seat.

Slamming her manga close, Karma sighed and looked towards the chalkboard. “Whenever you finally pick a mission out. I don’t care where we start so long as we actually start.” The scythe eyed the manga in her meister’s hands. “Is that… the manga I use to hide mine from Mom?”
As the teacher explained rules and expectations of the class, Karma glanced back at Garu who still had his feet propped up on the desk. Something about him bothered her. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but something in the back of her mind said something was wrong. “Hey, Sayuri…” she whispered to her meister. “Mind taking a look at that guy’s soul? What was his name again? Garu?”
Maybe it was just her being paranoid. She was distrustful of men, maybe that was the reason something felt wrong. She absentmindedly touched the scar on her right cheek. Stop it, Karma, she thought to herself. You don’t have to think about that anymore. Be a better weapon than he ever was…

Garu listened to the more than rather loud teacher. Why did he need to be so loud? Maybe he just wanted to make sure everyone could hear him. But that wouldn't explain the random interjections of "YAHOO!" which ruined his chance at a nap.
It wasn't anything new, just basic knowledge about the school that he found in his research before before he came and the basic on how meisters and weapons worked. So it might as well been 'blah blah blah YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! blah blah blah.' That was okay. He needed to keep his soul protect up.

"Hmm?" Sayuri looked at Karma, then at her manga cover, then back at Karma. "So that's why it's not Shugo Chara! I was so confused, something about a rabbit with a noose around its neck... I was like, where's Ran!?" She giggled, and turned around, squinting her eyes. "You're so paranoid!" she exclaimed. "He's got a normal soul as far as I can tell! But then, I can't see them as well as your mom. They're real fuzzy to me, like I'm wearing some bug-eye glasses!" She turned back to Karma, using her fingers to illustrate the glasses on her face. She must have looked goofy, but she didn't care. Karma was being all not happy. That wasn't new, but it was something that must be fixed! Sayuri snapped the manga closed as their teacher began to talk to them. She paid extra attention, resisting the urge to join in on his YAHOOOOS!, like she had when she was young. It was Daddy's turn to be in the spotlight right now, she would have her chance!
